“Honey” emerges from a special edition

KARA released Honey, a special edition of Pretty Girl. A newly arranged version of the existing track “Honey” became the title song, leading to their first music-show win the following month.

Honey (Special Edition) reworked the contents of the second mini album, Pretty Girl, into six tracks. Alongside a newly arranged “Honey,” it included the Bani and School Rock versions of “Pretty Girl” and “Goodday” Season 2. A 32-page photo book was also provided.

The release description credits “Honey” to Han Jae-ho and Kim Seung-soo and identifies it as a rearrangement of the original “Hani.” A shared song title does not necessarily mean an identical recording across the editions. This special edition supplied the promoted track that earned their first music-show win the next month.

“Honey” earns their first music-show win

“Honey” took first place on Mnet's M Countdown. After working steadily since their 2007 debut, KARA reached the top of a music show for the first time. Contemporary reports also recorded the members' tears of joy.

The first win came on Mnet's M Countdown, broadcast live from Nuritkum Square's production center in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Contemporary reporting dates the award to March 5 and explicitly identifies it as their first music-show No. 1 since their debut album in 2007.

The report places the win after promotions for “Pretty Girl” and records all members crying after the result. The song belongs to February's special edition, and its audio and music video later appeared on BEST GIRLS. Together, these records trace both the award moment and the song itself.
