The third single was postponed from its planned March 23 release to April 6 because of the Great East Japan Earthquake. KARA announced that all proceeds from CD sales and digital distribution would be donated to recovery efforts. Contemporary Oricon reporting records both the postponement and the support initiative.

With approximately 123,000 copies in its first week, it debuted at No. 1 on the weekly singles chart dated April 18. The milestone specifically concerned an overseas female group's debut at No. 1. Alongside the title song and drama theme, First Edition A's DVD introduced the song through its MV, dance-shot version, and filming extras.

June 11 becomes KAMILIA DAY

ソウル · 蚕室室内体育館

At 6 p.m. on June 11, 2011, Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Hara and Jiyoung held the free “What We Want to Say Now” fan meeting at Seoul’s Jamsil Arena. They thanked KAMILIA for waiting, renewed their commitment to continue together, and designated June 11 KAMILIA DAY. Hit songs, new stage performances, playful video segments and tears over KAMILIA messages made the event a shared moment of renewed resolve for KARA and KAMILIA.

Read activity details and sources

The gathering followed the resolution in April of the group’s dispute with its agency earlier that year, and was organized to thank KAMILIA directly. TBS’s official broadcast announcement describes an audience of about 4,000 in Seoul. Financial News reported that Seungyeon introduced the event as a gift of thanks, before Hara announced KAMILIA DAY as a special occasion for expressing KARA’s feelings and reassuring their supporters.

Their messages combined gratitude with a commitment to rebuild trust and continue as five. In Edaily’s on-site report, Gyuri explained that the experience had taught her the importance of trust, and credited KAMILIA’s belief in them for their return to activity. Seungyeon expressed regret for the hurt caused and her determination to work harder.

The same report records Nicole looking back on more than four years together and inviting everyone to keep moving forward. Hara asked for enduring love, while Jiyoung struggled to put into words how precious the KAMILIA were to her. The declaration was accompanied by each member’s own expression of their relationship with KAMILIA.

The performances included Jumping, Mister and Lupin. OSEN’s June 12 report identified the first stage performances of Jet Coaster Love and a Korean-language song of thanks prepared for the occasion. TBS’s official broadcast list identifies the latter as Ima, Okuritai “Arigatou” (Korean version). Its list also includes Wait and the encore songs Honey and Pretty Girl.

Interviews and video segments connected the songs, while guest group RAINBOW performed A and To Me. In a lie-detector video, Jiyoung brought laughter by explaining that in another life she would want to be KAMILIA rather than a KARA member. The mood changed when messages from KAMILIA moved the members to tears; Jiyoung spoke of her happiness at having KAMILIA and fellow members who cared for her.

The event was relayed live to Japanese cinemas; a later ORICON report confirms 83 cinemas and 84 screens. The advance Japanese notice advertised simultaneous interpretation and tickets priced at ¥3,800, or ¥2,800 for high-school students and younger viewers. The free Seoul gathering and the paid Japanese cinema relay were separate ways of taking part.

TBS Channel announced the event’s television premiere for August 11, 2011, at 9 p.m. Its published song list describes the broadcast selection and is not necessarily a complete concert set list. The June 11 gathering, its same-day cinema relay and the later television broadcast are distinct parts of how the event reached audiences beyond the arena.

KAMILIA DAY continued beyond this first gathering. In the announcement for the 2013 commemorative KAMILIA AWARDS fan meeting, DSP Media explicitly traced the event back to the June 11, 2011 declaration. Naming a day to express gratitude to KAMILIA gave later reunions a shared point of reference.

  • Members: Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Hara and Jiyoung. Guest: RAINBOW.
  • Origin: the members declared a day to express their feelings and gratitude to their fan club, KAMILIA.

The title song was used for LG Electronics' Optimus bright smartphone, while B-side “Girls Be Ambitious!” accompanied Dariya's Palty commercials. The official announcement stated that KARA themselves would appear in both. One single therefore brought together two songs tied to different products.

First Edition A's DVD contained three items: the MV, dance-shot version, and filming extras. First Edition C added the Korean-language “TO ME,” so video and bonus-song content varied by edition. Both the title song and B-side also appeared on November's Super Girl.

This was their new Korean album approximately ten months after Jumping. Alongside Japanese activities, KARA prepared new music and performances in Korea.

The sequence leads from “Ey! Oh!” into “STEP,” “Rider,” and “Strawberry.” It also contains an acoustic “I'm…(ing),” the outro “KARA 4 U,” and KAMILIA-directed “Dear Kamilia.” Beyond its title track, the album includes a reinterpretation of earlier material and a connection with KAMILIA.
