The comedy asks her to carry both a shy temporary worker and the president through gesture and behaviour. Renpei Tsukamoto directs from Erika Yoshida’s screenplay. Following short-film leads, it marks her first lead in a theatrical feature.

Watashi no Jinsei Nanoni opened in Japan with Jiyoung as Mizuho Kinjo. Directed by Keinosuke Hara and co-starring Yu Inaba, it follows a gymnast finding a new dream through music after her sporting career ends.
Jiyoung plays Mizuho Kinjo, a promising rhythmic gymnast who uses a wheelchair after illness. Reuniting with a childhood friend who is a street musician, she picks up a guitar and turns toward music. Distributor Presidio presents it as a youth drama centered on music and co-starring Yu Inaba.
Keinosuke Hara wrote and directed it, continuing his collaboration with Jiyoung after a segment of Zenin Kataomoi. JFDB records the Japanese release as July 14, 2018, running 103 minutes, with VAP producing and Presidio distributing. Its poster and stills depict fictional roles rather than the performer’s personal life.

In interviews Jiyoung describes moving from Assassination Classroom’s comic assassin to a serious role, including scenes in English. Keiji Miyano’s film asks her to communicate a reserved character’s feelings and desire for revenge through gaze and movement.
